AI-generated music now makes up nearly one-fifth of daily uploads to streaming platforms, spiking both excitement and alarm. While these tools help with music creation, they also raise concerns about fraud and copyright violations.

Artificial Intelligence is transforming the music industry. Streaming platforms report that AI-generated tracks account for around 18% of daily uploads. Streaming platforms like Deezer now tag AI-made tracks, remove them from playlists and block suspicious royalties. New detection tools are helping to stop fraudulent songs before they spread. AI music is trending now because of the accessible creation tools. Professional music editing software, such as Logic Pro X, requires the user to pay. This can put many people off creating music. However, apps such as Suno and Udio both offer free plans for AI music creation. This means that users can produce music with minimal resources. AI-generated music is also trending now because of fan curiosity. Audiences are now curious about how human-like compositions can become and whether they rival real artists. There are many different genres of music that are being created with this AI software. The most popular genre of AI music being posted on social media is the Pop and Hip-hop genres. These are most popular because these short-form tracks are perfect for viral TikTok trends, dances and memes. AI music is no longer a niche experiment, it’s becoming a significant part of the industry. This also brings challenges such as copyright disputes, potential fraud and questions about the value of human artistry.
