Feeder
Feeder is a British rock band formed in Newport, Wales, in 1994. The band was founded by singer and guitarist Grant Nicholas and drummer Jon Lee. Known for their melodic rock sound that blends alternative rock, post-grunge, and indie influences, Feeder rose to prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their early work gained critical attention, with albums like “Polythene” (1997) and “Yesterday Went Too Soon” (1999) establishing them as a key fixture on the UK rock scene. The release of the 2001 album “Echo Park” brought mainstream success, largely propelled by the hit single “Buck Rogers.” The following year, they released “Comfort in Sound,” an emotionally charged record written in the wake of Jon Lee's tragic death by suicide in 2002. The album marked a turning point in their career, showcasing a more mature and heartfelt musical direction. Feeder continued to evolve over the years, releasing several more albums including “Pushing the Senses” (2005), “Renegades” (2010), and “Torpedo” (2022). The band has seen various lineup changes, with Grant Nicholas remaining as the consistent force behind the group's sound and vision. Bassist Taka Hirose, who joined in the mid-1990s, has also been a long-standing member. Feeder is known for their energetic live performances and enduring appeal, maintaining a loyal fan base and regularly charting in the UK. Their music has been praised for its powerful choruses, emotional depth, and catchy melodies. Throughout their career, Feeder has sold millions of records worldwide and left a lasting mark on the British rock landscape.
