Twenty One Pilots

Twenty One Pilots is an American musical duo from Columbus, Ohio, formed in 2009. The band was originally founded by Tyler Joseph, along with former members Nick Thomas and Chris Salih. After Thomas and Salih departed in 2011, drummer Josh Dun joined the lineup, forming the duo known today. The band's music blends a variety of genres, including alternative rock, electropop, hip hop, and indie pop. They are known for their genre-defying sound, energetic live performances, and deeply personal lyrics that often explore mental health, self-doubt, and faith. Their breakthrough came with the release of their fourth studio album, "Blurryface," in 2015. The album included the hit singles "Stressed Out" and "Ride," both of which enjoyed international success and earned the band widespread recognition. "Stressed Out" won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2017. Following "Blurryface," they released "Trench" in 2018, which was praised for its conceptual storytelling and sonic experimentation. In 2021, they followed up with their sixth album, "Scaled and Icy," which marked a shift toward a more upbeat and synth-driven sound. Twenty One Pilots has built a dedicated global fan base, known as the "Skeleton Clique," and continues to tour and release music, maintaining a strong presence in the alternative music scene. Their unique style and emotional depth have solidified their status as one of the most innovative acts in modern music.
