Burna Boy, born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu on July 2, 1991, in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, is a Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer. He rose to prominence in 2012 with his breakout single "Like to Party," which was part of his debut studio album *L.I.F.E* released in 2013. His music blends Afrobeat, reggae, dancehall, and contemporary African sounds, placing him at the forefront of the global Afrofusion genre. Burna Boy comes from a creative background; his mother, Bose Ogulu, has served as his manager, and his grandfather, Benson Idonije, once managed Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. His music often draws influence from Kuti’s legacy, both in sound and in political messaging. Over the years, Burna Boy has released critically acclaimed albums including *Outside* (2018), *African Giant* (2019), and *Twice as Tall* (2020). *Twice as Tall* won the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album in 2021, making him one of Africa’s most successful musical exports.
