Born on January 25, 1996, in Mount Druitt, New South Wales, Australia, Hood grew up with a passion for music and sports. He initially pursued soccer at a competitive level but eventually chose to follow a musical career. In 2011, he co-founded 5 Seconds of Summer along with Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, and Ashton Irwin. The band gained popularity by posting cover songs on YouTube before being discovered and invited to tour with One Direction.
