Davido

Davido, whose full name is David Adedeji Adeleke, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. Coming from a wealthy family, Davido is the son of Adedeji Adeleke, a Nigerian businessman, and the late Veronica Adeleke, a university lecturer. Davido rose to fame in 2011 with the release of his hit single "Dami Duro," which quickly became a national anthem in Nigeria. He released his debut studio album "Omo Baba Olowo" in 2012, which featured a mix of Afrobeat and hip-hop influences. Over the years, Davido has become one of Africa's most influential and successful musicians, known for blending traditional African elements with global pop sounds. He has released several chart-topping singles, including "If," "Fall," "FIA," and "Assurance." His third studio album, "A Better Time," was released in 2020 and featured collaborations with international stars like Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, and Lil Baby. In addition to his music career, Davido is known for his philanthropic efforts and active presence on social media. He founded his own record label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), which has signed several successful artists. Davido has received numerous awards both locally and internationally, solidifying his status as a global Afrobeat ambassador. Despite his fame, he remains committed to promoting African culture and talent worldwide.
