Paul Simon

Paul Simon is an American singer-songwriter and musician known for his poetic lyrics and distinctive sound. He was born on October 13, 1941, in Newark, New Jersey, and grew up in Queens, New York. Simon first rose to fame as one half of the folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel alongside his childhood friend Art Garfunkel. The duo achieved great success in the 1960s with hits like *The Sound of Silence*, *Mrs. Robinson*, and *Bridge Over Troubled Water* before breaking up in 1970. After Simon & Garfunkel disbanded, Simon embarked on a successful solo career, releasing acclaimed albums such as *Paul Simon*, *There Goes Rhymin' Simon*, and *Graceland*. His 1986 album *Graceland*, which incorporated South African musical influences, became one of his most celebrated works. Over the decades, Simon continued to experiment with different musical styles and remained a significant figure in popular music.
