Reverend And The Makers is an English indie rock band from Sheffield, formed in 2005 by frontman Jon McClure, who is also known as the Reverend. They fuse energetic guitar-driven rock with soulful melodies and social commentary rooted in Northern England life. They broke into the national scene with their debut album The State of Things (2007), anchored by the single Heavyweight Champion of the World. Their follow-up, A French Kiss in the Chaos (2009), expanded their sound while preserving McClure’s distinctive voice and storytelling. The band has since continued to release music and tour, earning a reputation for lively, unapologetic live shows and for being a notable part of the UK indie scene.
