"The Fall of a Rebel Angel" is the eighth studio album by the musical project Enigma, created by German producer Michael Cretu. It was released on November 11, 2016, in both the UK and the US. The album marked Enigma's return after an eight-year hiatus since their previous release. It combines electronic, ambient, and world music elements with a narrative format, telling the story of a symbolic spiritual journey. The storyline was written by Grammy-winning lyricist Michael Kunze and features vocal contributions by artists such as Anggun, Mark Josher, Aquilo, and Nanuk. "The Fall of a Rebel Angel" was recorded at Michael Cretu's personal studio in Ibiza, Spain, using his custom-built mobile digital studio system known as Merlin. The album was released by Universal Music. It was produced entirely by Michael Cretu, the mastermind behind the Enigma project. In terms of chart performance, the album peaked at number 5 on the US Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart and reached number 40 on the UK Albums Chart.
